A Gathering of Fly Fishers Meeting on Monday Mornings in the Winter
“Connection” is Important in life and this kind of gathering in purposeful community is sure to increase your self-worth, help you enjoy a wholesome activity, have fun sharing, and gain a BIG sense of satisfaction.
We feature a split format — An exhibition/presentation by a guest tier who will deliver a program on the what, why, where, and how of the flies they will be featuring that morning. Half of our group watches that demo while the other half tie flies on their own. Then we switch groups.
You can expect a noticeable increase in the quality and uniformity of the flies you tie because you will meet and share common interest with some of the nicest people you can find in this Grand State of Maine. I have never met a fly tier I didn’t like.
You can also expect to go home with even more than you came with. We run a raffle for our attendees each session.
There are two prizes 1) a selection of flies that our Guest Tier has tied and 2) a packet of fly tying materials.
Our facilitator is Rod McGarry. You may contact him via email at flyrodmcgarry@gmail.com, or by phone at 207-615-4804. He can help with program resources, questions, and comments.
Always bring the tools, equipment, hooks and materials you use for your fly tying. You may also bring a coffee, tea or cold drink to be consumed in the tying room. We offer a tray of donuts and muffins for you. There is ample parking at the Library. If the lot is full, there is plenty more across the street at the playing fields.
Registration is requested for planning purposes.
We ask for a $4 contribution to cover the costs for our meetings and a donation to the Falmouth Memorial Library Fund. Thank You.
