THIS IS AN ECLIPSE EVENT. ONE PAIR OF ECLIPSE GLASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EACH HOUSEHOLD THAT ATTENDS. (Glasses will only be given to attendees aged 16 and up.)
Join us as we host Ron Thompson from the Southern Maine Astronomers to talk about the upcoming Solar Eclipse on April 8th.
Ron will answer the following questions:
What is a Solar Eclipse and how does a Solar Eclipse happen?
Why don't we have a Solar Eclipse every month?
How can we safely observe a Solar Eclipse?
Ron will also demonstrate how to SAFELY use Solar Glasses.
You can permanently damage your eyes using them improperly.

As a member of the International Dark Sky Association and Dark Sky Maine, SMA is actively involved in fighting light pollution and preserving our dark Maine skies.
